SUMMARY OF TOPICS

The following changes in requirements to the Standard for Commercial Refrigerators and Freezers, UL 471, are being proposed:

1. Addition of glossary terms for "component", "operating control", "protective (safety) control", and "capillary tube"

2. Deletion of component section and addition of basic component requirements paragraphs

3. Deletion of component appendix (appendix A) and moving of component requirements into the body of the standard

4. Revision of requirements for refrigerant tubing due to use of alternative refrigerants

5. Revision of requirements with respect to moving parts

6. Editorial revision to Table 32.2 for clarifying overvoltage category I

7. Addition of requirement for nonmetallic lamp guards in freezer compartments and material classification for LED luminaire lens
