Subject 1331

SUMMARY OF TOPICS

The following are changes in requirements to the proposed First Edition of UL 1331 from UL's Subject 1331 bulletin dated September 3, 2004:

1. Scope - Add paragraph 1.2 to clarify the scope of the standard.

2. Glossary Terms - Add new terms to the Glossary.

3. Secondary Valve - Revise paragraph 4.3 to add provision for optional secondary valve.

4. Assembly - Delete paragraph 4.8 since requirement is out of date.

5. Connections - Revise paragraph 4.12 to prohibit flared and compression-type connections.

6. Hydrostatic Strength Test - Clarify samples used for this test.

7. Performance, General - Clarify performance requirements.

8. Station Inlets and Outlets for Manufactured Assemblies - Addition of several tests to address station inlets and outlets for manufactured assemblies.

9. Editorial Revisions - Revisions to paragraphs 4.4, 4.10, 4.11, 8.3, and 8.4 to clarify the requirements.
