The following changes in requirements are being proposed:

Proposed Bi-National Sixth Edition of the Standard for Extruded Insulating Tubing

The new edition also includes the following revisions:

1. New materials/ratings requirements

2. Accuracy of test equipment used to measure thicknesses

3. Measurement of the wall thickness on a product where the meltable liner cannot be removed

4. Type of air circulating oven defined

5. Definition of diameters to be used for determining test fixture sizing

6. Removal of the option of using ASTM No. 2 oil

7. Alternative method for sample preparation of tubing with a meltable liner for tensile and elongation testing

8. Use of an extensometer as an alternative method to measure elongation

9. Clarifying the criteria used to determine compliance with the flexibility test (clause 5.5)

10. Sample length for the Dielectric Voltage Withstand and Breakdown test

11. Deformation test on tubing with a meltable liner

12. Clarification of the passing criteria for the heat shock test

13. Cold bend mandrels

14. Flame test equipment and calibration

15. All-tubing Flame test mandrel size

16. Flame test retest policy

17. Test Method for Volume Resistivity

18. Cross sectional area used in Secant Modulus calculation

19. Conductor corrosion and copper stability tests on tubing with a meltable inner liner
